Deca
Durabolin, commonly called Deca by athletes, is the popular
trade name of the chemical compound nandrolone decanoate. Deca is an
injectable steroid derived from 19-nortestosterone. Deca is classified
as high anabolic and low androgenic steroid and as such it is one of
the most widely used
steroids
since its commercial release in 1962.
Deca Durabolin is
a versatile steroid; it can be an effective agent both during bulking
and cutting cycles. Aside from its
anabolic
properties,
Deca
is also in great demand among athletes because it is known to relieve
pain and soreness on joints and tendons. This makes
Deca a top favorite
among those who do intense workout because this steroid allows a
shorter period for recovery. This positive effect of Deca is attributed
to its ability to reduce the amount of cortisol in the body, one of the
classic catabolic hormones. Although cortisol fulfills important
functions, it can be a liability when
bodybuilding
is concerned because it ‘eats away’ hard-earned muscle mass gains.
Deca’s effective dosage for males is 200mg-600mg per week. This steroid
is relatively milder when compared with other steroids, thus it can be
safely used by females. Females, however, should always take
conservative doses of Deca. A dosage of 50mg per week for women
athletes is adequate for favorable bodybuilding results.
