Steroids sold as health supplements effective against heart diseases
Posted Byi steroids
A natural defense mechanism against diseases of the heart can be switched on by steroids sold as health supplements, according to researchers at the University of Leeds.
A previously-unknown ion channel in human blood vessels was identified by biologists at the University of Leeds. This ion channel can prove useful in inhibiting the production of proteins (cytokines) driving the early stages of heart disease.
Forecasted benefits of ‘fountain of youth’ steroids could be more if used in a combination with healthy lifestyle strategies such as exercise ad cholesterol lowering drugs, as per the research.
