Steroid use admitted by retired NFL playersThe use of steroids increases the risk of musculoskeletal injuries, according to a survey of retired NFL players. More than 9 percent of the 2,522 former players admitted to making use of steroids during their professional football careers.

Results of the survey were published in an issue of the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

The survey suggested that more data are needed for further examining the relationship between use of steroids and musculoskeletal injury.
