k-1-worldmax-2008-final 8

The final 8 fighters in the 2008 K-1 WorldMax are: Andy Souwer, Sato, Masato, Buakaw Por. Pramuk, Artur Kyshenko, Drago, Kido, Warren Stevelmans.  Since in our K-1 WorldMax Top 16 post we discussed the top 5 WorldMax fighters in K-1, the game has changed a little.  We have to take Albert Kraus off the list because of his poor sportsmanship and his loss to Buakaw Por. Pramuk.

2008 K-1 WorldMax Final 8, Top 5 Ranking:

(1) Andy Souwer

(2) Masato

(3) Baukaw Por. Pramuk

(4) Artur Kyshenko

(5) YASUHIRO KIDO

2008 K-1 WorldMax Final 8 Predictions:

After  Baukaw Por. Pramuk lost to Masato last year (2007), it seems Baukaw is off his game.  He has started to throw a lot more kicks in the 2008 season, but this doesn’t mean he’s back to his peak prime of the 06 year.  Which fighters will advance to the final 4? From the line up K-1 put out for 2008 K-1 WorldMax Final 8, we predict the following fighters will make it to the Final 4:  Andy Souwer, Masato, Baukaw Por. Pramuk, Artur Kyshenko.  Since Artur Kyshenko was KOed by Masato last year, he’ll want revenge, so let’s hope we see Masato vs. Artur Kyshenko 2 in the 2008 K-1 WorldMax final 4.

2008 K-1 WorldMax and Steroids:

Drago, the fighter from Armenia is on steroids, as it turns out he was tested for anabolic steroids in an event outside of Japan and had huge levels of testosterone, so out of the Final 8, he’s 100% using anabolic steroids.  Masato is known to have been on light steroids like anavar and winstrol.  While Baukaw Por. Pramuk is probably heavy into the same short acting anabolic steroids as Masato.

K-1 WORLD MAX 2008 - Final 16 Finals Results

Buakaw Por. Pramuk vs Albert Kraus = Winner Buakaw (Decision EXTRA ROUND)
*Baukaw was in trouble with Albert Kraus, but, again, Baukaw is not fighting some joker. he’s fighting Albert Kraus the 2002 K-1 world max champion. Not some street thug nobody like Virgil Kalakoda. Very close fight, and Baukaw seemed in trouble, but he pulled it out with an extra round decision. It is another failure by K-1 judges because Buakaw won the first 2 rounds and 3rd was a tie but he lost the decision round in our view, so why did it even go to decision? Buakaw won period.

Andy Souwer vs Mike Zambidis = Winner Andy Souwer (Ext.R 2′05″ KO , KO Round 4)
*Andy Souwer pulled a high kick out of nowhere and knocked out a K-1 veteran Mike Zambidis in the 4th round. Unexpected, but what else to expect from a 2time K-1 world max champion. He’s one of the best in the world. Again, we had Andy Souwer winning at least 2 rounds, why did it go to an extra round!

Masato vs Virgil Kalakoda = Winner Masato (KO R3)
*We always thought of Masato as a 1 time fighter with not much talent, but he outboxed and outkicked Virgil Kalakoda! totally schooling him. Masato destroyed Virgil Kalakoda, period.

K-1 World Max 2008 and Steroids:

Of course, we can’t talk about such fights without mentioning steroids.   The 2 most prominent steroid users in K-1 Max are Baukaw Por. Pramuk and Masato.  Baukaw Por. Pramuk went from 105lbs. to 150lbs.+ and dropped amazing amounts of bodyfat, his shape can easily be attributed to low dose steroid usage, same with his stamina.  Masato ’s steroid use speaks for itself.  Andy Souwer doesn’t seen to be on any steroids or HGH but he’s probably using some EPO or painkillers - which are a lot more beneficial during these grueling 4 round kickboxing fights.  Out of the top 5, the only people 110% not using steroids or HGH is Artur Kyshenko.
