Homosexuals risk life by abusing drugsThere is an urgent need to rethink by addiction agencies and doctors support minority groups after a Home Office-funded report revealed that gay men and lesbians are at an increased risk from drug misuse than heterosexuals.

Drug services are of little relevance to many in lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-sexual (LGBT) groups, according to a report by the UK Drug Policy Commission.

Health officials must make efforts to formulate and implement new approaches for prevention like use of social networking sites for changing drug-use behavior among lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-sexual (LGBT) groups.

Arizona starts tracking users of prescription drugsA centralized, state-managed database that can be accessed by doctors and pharmacists around Arizona, will be storing prescription information of legally sold drugs such as OxyContin, Vicodin, Ritalin, and Ambien.

Dr. Stephen Borowsky, an anesthesiologist and pain-management specialist, said that he is happy to learn that Arizona has finally decided to keep a close eye on medicines that have potential for addiction.

Pharmacy Board officials remarked that database access is recorded and limited to doctors and pharmacists.
