Cavalcante busted for anabolic steroids
The California State Athletic Commission has revealed that MMA fighter Rafael Cavalcante has tested positive for the use of stanozolol metabolites, a form of anabolic steroid.
This was after Rafael “Feijao†Cavalcante submitted heavy-handed Mike Kyle in just 0:33 seconds last month.
In 2010, Cavalcante made a name for himself by defeating Muhammed “King Mo†Lawal to capture the Strikeforce light heavyweight title. Cavalcante is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and presently competing in the Light Heavyweight division. Cavalcante, known for his aggressive Muay Thai style and explosive knockout power, trains with Anderson Silva and Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira.
Cavalcante now faces a one year suspension from mixed martial arts and also a fine of $2,500. Other MMA fighters who were busted for use of prohibited substances include Chris Leben, Alistair Overeem, Thiago Silva, and Cris “Cyborg†Santos.
