Police will be using DNA testing in the case against an East Maitland woman who has denied 10 drug-related charges, to find out whether she handled bags and jars containing illegal substances found in her home.

Jeanette Bieman, the 43-year-old woman, submitted to application of the police for a DNA swab when she appeared briefly in court.

Bieman denied knowledge of the substances when her home was searched by police.
