Violation of steroids policy leads to Dwayne Bowe suspension
Posted Byi steroids
According to recent reports, receiver Dwayne Bowe of the Chiefs has been suspended for four games with immediate effect after being found guilty of violating the NFL’s policy regarding anabolic steroids and related substances.
This news suggests that Bowe has opted not to pursue internal appeals or got exhausted with them. The substance used by Bowe isn’t known and speculations have remarked that this violation happened in 2008 or earlier.
From Profootballtalk.nbcsports.com:
The specific substance for which he tested positive isn’t known, and it’s possible that the violation occurred in 2008 or earlier. It’s also possible that Bowe didn’t test positive; some players have been suspended based on evidence of possession of banned substances.
He’ll miss games against the Steelers, Chargers, Broncos, and Bills. He’ll then return for the final three games of the year, against the Browns, Bengals, and Broncos.
It seems like the Chiefs have a continuing history of one or other incident and they are yet to get any respite after a problem player landed with a new team some times back.
This incident has once again highlighted the fact that steroids and sports share a relationship that is often left untalked unless a sportsman is caught using steroids. It seems like the doping officials are finally moving fast ahead to get hold of sportsmen cheating on the game.
