According to the U.S. Customs Department, prescription drugs including anabolic steroids
cannot be possessed by anyone unless there is a prescription or a written statement from a physician that the drugs are used under the physician's supervision and required for the physical well being while traveling. According to US federal and state laws, only medications that can be legally prescribed in the country can be imported for personal use and the FDA does not allow the import of prescription drugs that are purchased outside the United States.
The FDA has developed guidance entitled “Coverage of Personal Importations” that sets forth priorities of FDA enforcement in the context of personal importation of unapproved drugs by individuals for personal use. Under this guidance, the FDA may allow an individual to import a three month supply of an unapproved drug in the United States if the drug is considered not to represent an unreasonable risk or if it will not be distributed commercially by the importer or if the intended use of the drug in question is for a serious medical condition for which effective treatment may not be available domestically or if the individual seeking to import the drug gives an affirmation in writing that the drug is meant for the personal use of patient while disclosing the name and address of the doctor licensed in the United States responsible for his or her treatment or offers evidence that the drug is for the continuation of a treatment begun in a foreign country.
If you have purchased anabolic steroids for personal use, without a medical prescription and/or for purposes other than legal (medical), and received a seizure letter, it is best for you to avoid giving a reply to it. The best the department of customs can do is to seize the products but you can always send a scanned copy of the seizure letter to the steroid pharmacy and ask for a reshipment after providing a new shipping name and address.
A seizure letter is being sent by the customs department if the inspectors discover a package containing steroids. The letter offers a chance to the designated recipient to challenge the seizure by showing a lawful right to the steroids. It is strongly suggested that no future purchase of steroids should be made on the same shipping address for four to six months, at least, as the customs department would be intercepting all possibly suspicious parcels bearing the destination addresses.
It is highly recommended that you try to gather as much information as possible about laws regarding the use, purchase, and possession of anabolic steroids and related drugs before making a purchase so that you stay away from legal hassles in the first place itself.
